ŠKODA AUTO achieved a
1.2 per cent growth
in its deliveries in October 2012.
Deliveries to customers
in October numbered
78,000
as against 77,000 one year ago. This is ŠKODA’s best figure ever for October, scoring 22,900 deliveries in China. Worldwide, ŠKODA’s
sales rose 7.2 per cent
to a record level of
795,100
from January through October 2012 (January through October 2011: 741,800).
“Despite a continued difficult market situation in Europe, ŠKODA is staying the course worldwide,” says
Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA board member for sales and marketing
. “We intend to continue to grow solidly, and this is why we have initiated the greatest model offensive in our company history. The ŠKODA Rapid is all new on the market, with the new ŠKODA Octavia to follow in early 2013. Our new models will crucially contribute to implementing our growth strategy successfully even in trying economic times,” says Eichhorn.
In
Western Europe
, ŠKODA delivered 27,600 vehicles (October 2011: 29,200). ŠKODA’s market share in the first ten months rose to over three per cent (January through October 2011: 2.8 per cent). In the same period, deliveries totalled more than 303,700, two per cent less than a year ago. ŠKODA saw the highest Western European deliveries growth in October 2012 in Great Britain, a plus of about 69 per cent for a total of more than 4,600 (October 2011: 2,700).

ŠKODA again posted strong growth in Russia: deliveries to customers there rose 17.0 per cent to 8,300 in October 2012 as against 7,100 in October 2011. In the first ten months, ŠKODA grew by 40 per cent in Russia to a total of around 80,100 (January through October 2011: 57,200).
